The black curve is 0M guanidine hydrochloride, the red curve is 2M guanidine hydrochloride and the blue curve is 4M guanidine hydrochloride. Note that the addition of guanidine hydrochloride to 2M completely obliterates the peak at 1/d of around 0.029 Å−1, a spacing which is consistent with the tetrameric form of hemoglobin.
