The time response of the total electron yield signal, Ie, initially close to equilibrium at 531 eV (the background prior to the O K-edge) when the energy is changed to suddenly changed 533 eV (the O K-edge maximum) after 150 s (I1). Also shown are the extrapolated background signal and the extrapolated background contribution corrected for the change in the graphite signal (Ib), as discussed in §5[link]. The sample is made up of 40 wt% of graphite and 60 wt% of 3 mol% Y2O3–ZrO2.
