The sphere temperature increases as the X-ray beam is focused. Along the flow stream direction (z-direction profiles) the temperatures are higher at the rear of the sphere, and are highest at the center of the sphere (and symmetrical) when traversing normal to the flow stream direction (x-direction profiles).
