Figure 7
On-axis transmission efficiency response of a type II spectrometer constructed from eight stacked 200 µm-thick silicon photodiode arrays. This spectrometer can provide good measurements of energy between 9 and 25 keV and provide K-edge ambiguity resolution up to 60 keV. Curves show simulated transmission efficiency observed by the second (filled squares), third (open squares), fourth (filled diamonds), fifth (open diamonds), sixth (filled circles), seventh (open circles) and eighth (crosses) detector in the stack. These correspond to the signal observed through 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200 and 1400 µm of silicon. Not shown is the first diode array in the stack which provides the I0 signal. Horizontal lines indicate the position of 0.1 and 0.9 on the transmission efficiency axis. Note: simulations neglect the absorption of dopants, passivating layers and electrode materials.
