The y coordinate is the longitudinal fibre direction; z is perpendicular to y. The fibre broke after 17 points measured at 40 mN; the missing values have been replaced by those at 34 mN (hatched area). The X-ray beam diameter was 2 µm (microfocus beamline ID13, ESRF).
