Response obtained on two CVD diamond devices (same contact geometries and electric fields) to 1 keV X-ray pulses (FWHM is ∼800 ps). The top device exhibits a slow decay component that is not visible on the bottom one (the small oscillations just after the pulses are caused by signal bounces in non-perfectly adapted cables). Insets show the shapes of the detection signals observed under pulsed X-ray excitations at 20 keV and at 0.3 GHz.
