Spatial variations of the detector response in a 140 µm × 140 µm STJ detector (Bechstein et al., 2004BB5). The reduced peak height at the ends of the line scan is due to increased charge loss at the detector edges, and degrades the energy resolution and causes deviations from the Gaussian line shape (inset).
