Orbital and spin magnetization components of yttrium d-DOS in the YIG thin film. All spectra displayed here were calculated using the differential XMCD sum-rules after careful corrections accounting for fluorescence reabsorption and polarization rates. Note the giant intensity of the white line in the XAS spectrum while the orbital magnetization component is very weak.
