Nuclear resonant scattering data for an α-iron foil with the hyperfine field B oriented along different directions in the plane perpendicular to the photon direction k (θ = 90°). The angle φ is the angle between the polarization of the radiation ex and the direction of the magnetic hyperfine field B. The dots are the data and the solid line is a fit obtained using the software package CONUSS (Sturhahn, 2000BB21). (a) Energy spectra. The energy scale is given in units of the natural linewidth of the Mössbauer level in 57Fe, γ = 4.66 neV. (b) Time spectra taken without reference sample in the beam.
