(a) Enlarged image of a smaller dimension beam taken with collimator for a foil tilt angle of 45°. A grid having similar dimensions to the collimator has been superimposed onto the image. (b) Ray-trace image obtained by recording rays that have successfully passed through a collimator with similar hole and septum dimensions to the one used in (a). Two beam spreads having a Gaussian distribution with their centres 1.6 mm apart were used as the source for the ray-trace image. The ray-trace image has been scaled to the data image.
