Three-dimensional rendering of the panel under different viewing angles, obtained by synchrotron-radiation computed laminography. The paint layer at the top, the perpendicular grain directions in the inlay (below) and the panel (bottom), and the folded paper (centre) are clearly visible. The field of view is that indicated in Fig. 3[link]. An animated 360° rotational view has been deposited and is available as supplementary data from the IUCr electronic archives (Reference: GF5005 ).
