Results of principal component analysis, applied to a stack of images of Chernozem soil taken with the STXM at BESSY II. The eigenspectra of the first six principal components (PC) in the stack are shown. The first PC shows a spectral signature similar to that of the averaged sample, while the second PC shows some peaks around the carbon edge. From the last four PCs, no significant spectral information can be extracted.
