(a) XANES of a Cu foil measured with the DCM monochromated beam. The inset shows the derivative profile of the XANES spectrum, with the peak position corresponding to the Cu K-edge absorption at 8979 eV and the peak width 2.0 eV representing the energy resolution of the beam. (b) The DCM defined energies (nominal energy Enom) are calibrated by the characteristic absorption edges (absolute energy Eabs) of 14 standard metal foils measured using XANES. From the fitted line, an energy-dependent shift of 0.2% and a common offset of 11 eV of Enom are corrected systematically. The inset shows the deviations of Enom from Eabs after the corrections.
