Analysis of arsenic in the hair of a variety of taxidermy specimens. The optical micrograph (left) shows the arrangement of six hairs that were mapped with micro-XRF for arsenic (top, scale bar = 200 µm). The line-scan (bottom) across these samples reveals a surface component as well as significant penetration into the hairs.
