Tissue accumulation of iodine measured by ICP-MS. Iodine concentrations (µg g−1 dry weight) were measured in a F98 tumor-bearing rat brain infused with 20 mg ml−1 of IUdR for six days at 1 µL h−1. Three contiguous 2 mm coronal sections of the ipsilateral brain were taken from the tumor area, the second one being located at the injection site (Tumor 2*). The fourth section was taken from the ipsilateral tumor-bearing right hemisphere, and the last was taken from the contralateral non-tumor-bearing left cerebral hemisphere.
