At pressures below 6 GPa, Fe3C is magnetic (marked by outer circles). At ambient conditions, the VP and VS of the few-crystal sample are 5% and 16% larger than those of the powder sample, respectively, indicating strong anisotropy. (b) Poisson's ratio ν of Fe3C as a function of density. At ambient conditions, Poisson's ratio of the powder sample is larger and closer to the limiting value of 0.5 for liquids. |
