Solid circles and crosses represent data obtained in the run of platinum (anvil taper angle, 20°) and ringwoodite (anvil taper angle, 25°), respectively. A pressure of 32 GPa was generated for a load of 95 tons. Note that pressure increases linearly with applied load up to about 20 GPa (40 tons) and the P versus L relation becomes non-linear above this pressure. |
