Spectra reconstructed from the detector channels at the points A, B, C and D (a). Images (b)–(f) are selected from the different parts of the detector corresponding to the electron binding energy slices indicated in (a). Their sum constitutes the image shown in Fig. 4(a)[link]. In the insert, the three-dimensional surface of the graphite band structure as a function of electron momentum is shown, with a scheme explaining the part of the band acquired by each image.
