An example of X-ray-induced spectroscopic changes in a single crystal of horse heart met-myoglobin similar to that reported by Yi et al. (2010BB62). The data collection strategy was as outlined in the text. The inset shows the `Best' orientation for the crystal before and after the X-ray diffraction data were collected. The spectra illustrated in the nested set of curves were measured after every 20 s exposure for 15 images and then after every tenth image through 180 total images.
