The proper L3 atomic absorption of Xe and Cs together with the present result on Ba. The asymptotic downward trend of the absorption coefficient, recognizable in the high-energy side of Fig. 2[link], is removed as in Kodre et al. (2010BB9). Inset: L3-edge profiles with white lines of the elements on the same energy scale, as conjectural templates of 4d resonances. The Ba L3-edge is reconstructed from the uncorrupted L2-edge.
