S 2p SXPS spectra collected at hν = 380 eV from (a) air-oxidized homogeneous chalcopyrite [point indicated in Fig. 1(b[link])], (b) pH 9 oxidized homogeneous chalcopyrite from point 1 in Fig. 2(b)[link], and (c) pH 9 oxidized homogeneous chalcopyrite from point 2 in Fig. 2(b)[link]. Plots also include deconvoluted peak components from the sulfur species contributing to the S 2p profile (only 2p3/2 spin orbit components displayed): red, monosulfide; blue, disulfide; purple, polysulfide; orange, energy-loss feature.
