Squares are the integrated beam intensity and the red curves are the simulated intensity based on a decay time constant of 60 ns and dead-time of 210 ns. At the beginning and the end of the 45 µs opening the edges of the slit in the rotating disc move across the X-ray beam, making frames with intermediate intensity.
