The far-field intensity distributions of the waveguides as a function of [2\theta] along with Gaussian fits [(a) 35 nm C, (b) 18 nm C, (c) 9 nm C]. The maxima of the far-field distributions are found approximately at [\alpha_{\rm f}] = 0, i.e. the slopes of [2\theta_{\rm{max}}] as a function of [\alpha_{\rm i}] are near 1.
