(a) Scattering geometry and notations: ki and kf are the incident and emergent wavevectors, respectively, [\theta_{\rm{i}}] and [\theta_{\rm{f}}] are the incident and emergent scattering angles, φ is the azimuthal angle, qz and qy are the momentum transfer along the z and y directions, respectively, L is the distance between the sample and the scintillator screen. (b) Characteristic lengths in the angular space (s in the text) as a function of the object characteristic sizes/spacing in the direct space, D. The graphs are plotted for four different L values: 30, 50, 150 and 300 mm. Objects from a few tens of nanometers up to a few micrometers can be measured by simply adjusting the sample-to-screen (YAG) distance. The dashed line at y = 17.8 mm corresponds to the field of view of the MagSAXS set-up.
