Diagram of the phase-sensitive detection (PSD) scheme used in the experiments. A sinusoidal varying excitation is added to a bias voltage used to set the piezo actuator. The filtered I0 signal is compared in phase with the excitation signal and its amplitude is measured. The output of a PID controller adjusts the bias voltage to keep the two monochromator crystals aligned optimally. The input of the PID controller is derived from the variation in the monochromator output as measured by an ion chamber. |
