Transmission of photons in air at 30 keV as a function of distance. Both coherent (green dashes) and incoherent (red dots) scattering contribute to the total scattering (blue solid) seen, which affects the total transmission of photons. Scattering cross sections for air at 30 keV were obtained from the NIST database (NIST, 2011BB38).
