Comparison of the Au L3-edge XANES spectra of two chloro(triphenylphos­phine)gold [(C6H5)3PAuCl] samples. While the spectrum of a polycrystalline powder sample was measured in transmission mode using ionization chambers, the spectrum of the dilute liquid sample with a concentration of 10 mM l−1 in dichloromethane (CH2Cl2) was collected by a PIPS detector in fluorescence mode. The normalized spectra are vertically shifted with respect to each other. The shown spectrum of the Au complex in solution was measured within 25 min of acquisition time.
