Composite image of the individual diffraction patterns of a cell wall intersection with a size of 13.2 µm (H) by 20 µm (V). The scanning step size was 200 nm (H) and 400 nm (V). The strong fluorescence signal and the complete disappearance of the cellulose reflections can be seen in the enlarged area, in images 1–4.
