), defined as R_split = $[(1/{\sqrt{2}})(\sum\!|{I}_{\rm even}-{I}_{\rm odd}|)/\{(1/2)[\sum(I_{\rm even}+{I}_{\rm odd})]\}]$ is shown as a coloured surface, with purple indicating low values and red indicating high values, as a function of resolution and the number of images included in the integration. As expected, the inclusion of more images results in a reduction in R_split.
