Schematic of a Friedel pair in the coordinate system fixed to the sample. In the condition that the rotation axis is perpendicular to the incident beam, a Friedel pair consisting of diffraction spots A and C appears at ω and ω + 180° (Ludwig et al., 2009bBB11).
