The imaginary component of the refractive index, β, as previously shown in Fig. 4(d), is the absorptive part of the refractive index, whereas the real deviation from 1, δ, is calculated from β by the Kramers–Kronig relations as described in the text if a chemical formula and density are input into QANT.
