Figure 10
OPIS wavelength measurements to evaluate shortest FLASH wavelength values corresponding to highest accelerator energies. The argon 2p3/2,1/2 electrons with binding energies of 248.4 eV and 250.6 eV, respectively, are most suited for wavelength determination in this range. The mean kinetic energy of the 2p doublet increases from 27.3 eV to 47.8 eV shifting the wavelength from 4.48 nm to 4.17 nm. For each spectrum the accelerator electron energy set for FEL operation at the particular wavelength is specified in the legend in the corresponding color. The measurements have been conducted in one experimental run of 12 h.
