Plot of the total column density inside the windowless absorption cell related to the entrance pressure (Pe). The experimental points have been determined from recorded spectra of the longest, the second and the third bands of 16O2 belonging to the [{E}^{\,3}{\Sigma}_{u}^{-}] progression. The modellization (solid line) is based upon the flowing equation related to the geometry of the cell and to the pumping conditions. The standard deviation of the residual error is 2.5% (see text for details).
