The coherent diffraction pattern near the center of the (301) Bragg peak rocking curve from a Gd₅Si₂Ge₂ nanocrystal at 253 K using (a) LCP and (b) RCP X-rays, shown with a logarithmic color scale. Because the helicity dependent magnetic contrast from `C–M' interference is less than 2% of the `charge-only' signal, the two diffraction patterns look almost identical to the eye.
