ROS distribution from either X-ray or electron emission in the depth direction of the ROS gel from the site of generation inside a cell, detected by APF gel or DHE gel under X-ray irradiation in either the absence (a) or presence (b) of IONs. A large ROS production appeared within a certain distance from the site of impact just beneath the cell; then it penetrated further in a different angular direction as a single track of either superoxide or hydroxyl radicals (c).
