Fe K-edge XANES spectra of selected Fe chlorides. The pre-edge peak is set at 0 eV. The Fe chloride dopant was characterized by XAFS spectroscopy. By comparing with reference compounds, the Fe species in the PA could be identified as [FeCl4]−. μ and t are the absorption coefficient and thickness of the sample. [Reproduced from Asakura et al.
