The K-edge Kα1-detected HERFD-XANES of Fe in magnetite nano-particles. The self- or over-absorption in the spectrum with 100 mM concentration of Fe is clearly visible. The spectral distortion is corrected using the FLUO code in the top panel and the strongly distorted spectrum is fitted using the less-distorted spectrum in the bottom panel. Note that the fitted spectra are normalized to the spectral area and not the edge jump.
