ROS distribution from either X-ray or electron emission in the region beneath the gel surface where cells were attached. ROS detected by APF gel or DHE gel under X-ray irradiation in the (a) absence or (b) presence of FeONPs and (c) AuNPs. Incident X-rays or nanoradiator X-FL generated a central or deflected track, while electrons produced by primary radiolysis or the nanoradiator were scattered in random directions. (c) Three tracks or (b) two tracks were observed for Au L-line X-FL or Fe K-line X-FL.
