The C(9) chains referred to in the text run from left to right and are linked together by a pair of π-stacked bipyridine molecules. The dihedral angles between the amide and phenyl mean planes in the two independent paracetamol molecules are 14.68 (8)° and 13.27 (9)° for molecules A and B, respectively.
