Representation of the low-temperature structure of Ba2Bi3+Bi5+O6. The spheres represent Ba while the BiO6 groups are shown as octahedra, these octahedra being lighter and darker accordingly as they contain the larger Bi3+ or smaller Bi5+ ions, respectively. The two views shown are along the y and z axes of the monoclinic structure, these being the axes about which octahedral tilting occurs.
