Figure 4
Reconstructed image of the [(h\bar{h}0l)] reciprocal plane of the fivefold superstructure of CaAlSi. The strong reflections correspond to the average structure with the symmetry P6/mmm; they are separated along the c* axis (horizontal) by four superstructure reflections. The weak ([{{1}\over{2}}][ {{\bar{1}}\over{2}}][ {{\bar{5}}\over{2}}]), ([{{1}\over{2}}][ {{\bar{1}}\over{2}}][ {{5}\over{2}}]), ([{{\bar{1}}\over{2}}][ {{1}\over{2}}][ {{5}\over{2}}]) and ([{{\bar{1}}\over{2}}][ {{1}\over{2}}][ {{\bar{5}}\over{2}}]) reflections around the centre of the image are due to the [\lambda]/2 radiation. The intensities are rescaled to the interval 0 (white) to 100 (black); the stronger peaks are clipped (highest intensity in this figure: over 64 000 counts per pixel).
