Crystal structure of anticotunnite Rb2S (Pnma, Z = 4) at 0.7 GPa upon compression. Light and dark grey circles are the Rb and S atoms. The structure is projected along b and shows the walls of trigonal prisms of Rb atoms, which are occupied by S atoms, connected by common edges. Alternate walls are shifted by b/2. The S atoms are coordinated by nine Rb atoms, six of them corresponding to the apices of the prism and three extra Rb atoms belonging to adjacent chains (dashed lines).
