The high-angle annular dark-field image of d-ZnMgDy taken along the periodic axis. The building units isolated from the model as shown in Fig. 6[link] are overlaid on this image for an easier comparison. Clusters A and B, shown in Figs. 2[link](d), 4[link] and 5[link], are again indicated by dark blue and yellow colors, respectively. The figure is contracted along the vertical axis about 10% to cancel out the usual distortion effect observed in HAADF figures.
