The number of high-pressure (hp) deposits accumulated in the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) (Groom et al., 2016BB39) starting from 1950, when Lawson & Tang applied a diamond piston for generating high pressure, up to the latest release of the CSD in 2019. The analogous search in the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database (ICSD) yields twice as many, 5112 high-pressure (larger than 100 MPa) deposits.
