Yasuda–Shedlovsky plot for the inhibitor IDD384. The titrations were carried out in the pH range 2.5–11.0 for different dioxane/water mixtures with 0.15 M KCl; thus, only the pKa of the carboxylic acid was determined. The Yasuda–Shedlovsky extrapolation was used to calculate the aqueous pKa of IDD384 to be 4.52. The dielectric constant of pure water at 298 K is 78.3; hence, 1/dielectric constant = 0.012.
