Yasuda–Shedlovsky plot for the inhibitor IDD384. The titrations were carried out in the pH range 2.5–11.0 for different dioxane/water mixtures with 0.15 M KCl; thus, only the pK_a of the carboxylic acid was determined. The Yasuda–Shedlovsky extrapolation was used to calculate the aqueous pK_a of IDD384 to be 4.52. The dielectric constant of pure water at 298 K is 78.3; hence, 1/dielectric constant = 0.012.
