The anomalous signal was calculated by 〈Δ /FT〉 = (NA/2NT) − (2/Zeff), where NA and NT are the number of anomalous scatters and the number of non-H atoms, respectively, is the imaginary component of the anomalous scattering and Zeff is the effective atomic scattering factor (6.7 for proteins). A frequency-weighted average of 7.8 non-H atoms per residue was used in the calculation of NT. |
