Schematic drawing of the transmission polarizer (top view). Two Si wafers with an Fe/Si supermirror coating are arranged in a V-shape set-up inside a 58Ni guide. Spin-down neutrons are transmitted. Spin-up neutrons are reflected on the Fe/Si supermirror wafers and afterwards are absorbed in the glass wall of the 58Ni guide.
