For the SASE3 undulator with a defined maximum active segment length of 130 m, the simulated XFEL pulse data taken from the XPD (Manetti et al., 2016BB17) are used: photon energy 800 eV, electron bunch charge 250 pC and electron energy 14 GeV. The top row corresponds to an untapered undulator and pulse energy 8 mJ, and the bottom row to an undulator with optimized tapering (Schneidmiller & Yurkov, 2016BB25) and pulse energy 17 mJ.
