The scattering event shown in Fig. 5[link] as seen from the sample, projected onto the xy plane. The total momentum transfer Q is decomposed into a radial component Qr and a complementary component QC. Only the magnitude of Qr is included in the measured precession angle. The angle α denotes the difference between the polar angle at the first and last shifter, α = α1 − α4.
