Indexing the monoclinic structure of pyrene from a reciprocal space map obtained with a linear diode array mounted on a ψ-circle diffractometer. The dark horizontal lines are due to dead elements in the diode array. The successful indexing with a known bulk polymorph shows that pyrene assumes the room-temperature bulk structure with the (001) plane parallel to the substrate surface. A 5% swelling was included for the dip-coated molecular film.
